Sarah Palin Going Rogue, Read it on the New Kindle 2.0

Sarah Palin grew to immediate popularity during the 2008 US presidential elections when she became the GOP running mate of John McCain. Better known in Alaska as the Governor of the state she bought many reforms during her time of power.

Many people in the US had never heard of her, let alone internationally. But her rise to popularity came during a speech at the Republican National convention. The Republican party were desperate to get votes swinging back their way as Barack Obama and the Democrats were sweeping the nation with the historic “change rhetoric”.

Many political writers admitted it was a big gamble to call up Sarah Palin as a vice presidential candidate but the Republicans thought it would show an intent of change and turn the tide of voting to them. And it did, just 5 months prior to the elections the Republican party were leading in most of the polls across the US. With Palin’s background as a main street American woman, a wife of a blue collar union partner, a mother of five children of whom one was actively serving in Iraq and the youngest an infant with specialist needs began to touch the American voters psyche.

Sarah Palin was becoming an American sweetheart and the popularity of the Republican party increasing, until she pressed the self destruct button.

Nearing the presidential elections, she decided to separate herself more from the McCain camp. But why? Many rumours began surfacing that Palin had her own agendas. People from the Republican party starting using words like “diva” and “rogue” to describe her. When John McCain decided not to include Sarah Palin on strategic decision making, it was clear they were headed in different directions.

Her infamous mistake came when she was interviewed by a CBS channel anchor host. The interview made Palin sound like a complete inexperienced, unfit and ignorant person to take any leadership role.

From being popular for the right reasons, she now faced criticism and mockery. The Saturday night live comedy show portrayed her as a complete joke and someone who could never be seriously taken as a vice presidential candidate. And so the Democrats became elected and Barack Obama the president.

But here are a few things to consider. Palin was very close to becoming the vice president of the US. In her new book ‘Sarah Palin Going Rogue’ she talks straight out and reveals her feelings about her journey during the presidential race and beyond. Could there be a chance of her running for office in future? Anything is possible, right?

Find out the real Sarah Palin story in her own words. What really happened during the presidential elections? Why was her interview with the CBS host Catie Courric a disaster? Was she set up?
